Paper Pulp categories by raw material

In the paper industry, the choice of raw materials is of crucial importance for product quality, production costs and environmental impact. The paper industry has a variety of raw materials, mainly including wood pulp, bamboo pulp, grass pulp, hemp pulp, cotton pulp and waste paper pulp.

1. Wood pulp

Wood pulp is one of the most common raw materials for papermaking, and is made from wood (a variety of species including eucalyptus) through chemical or mechanical methods. Wood pulp according to its different pulping methods, can be further divided into chemical pulp (such as sulphate pulp, sulphite pulp) and mechanical pulp (such as grinding stone grinding wood pulp, hot grinding mechanical pulp). Wood pulp paper has the advantages of high strength, good toughness, strong ink absorption, etc. It is widely used in the production of books, newspapers, packaging paper and special paper.

2. Bamboo pulp

2

Bamboo pulp is made from bamboo as the raw material for paper pulp. Bamboo has a short growth cycle, strong regenerative capacity, is an environmentally friendly raw material for paper making. Bamboo pulp paper has high whiteness, good air permeability, good stiffness and other characteristics, suitable for the production of cultural paper, living paper and part of the packaging paper. With the enhancement of environmental awareness, the market demand for bamboo pulp paper is growing.

3. Grass pulp Grass pulp is made from a variety of herbaceous plants (such as reeds, wheatgrass, bagasse, etc.) as raw materials. These plants are rich in resources and low cost, but the pulping process is relatively complex and needs to overcome the challenges of short fibres and high impurities. Grass pulp paper is mainly used for the production of low-grade packaging paper, toilet paper and so on.

4. hemp pulp

Hemp pulp is made of flax, jute and other hemp plants as raw materials for pulp. Hemp plant fibres long, strong, made of hemp paper with good tear resistance and durability, especially suitable for the production of high-grade packaging paper, banknote paper and some special industrial paper.

5. Cotton pulp

Cotton pulp is made from cotton as the raw material of pulp. Cotton fibres are long, soft and ink-absorbent, giving cotton pulp paper a high texture and writing performance, so it is often used to make high-grade calligraphy and painting paper, art paper and some special-purpose paper.

6. Waste Pulp

Waste pulp, as the name suggests, is made from recycled waste paper, after deinking, purification and other treatment processes. The recycling of waste pulp not only saves natural resources, but also reduces waste emissions, which is an important way to achieve sustainable development of the paper industry. Waste pulp can be used to produce many types of paper, including corrugated boxboard, grey board, grey bottom white board, white bottom white board, newsprint, environmentally friendly cultural paper, recycled industrial paper, and household paper.
